Heute durfte ich die U13- und U15-Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer des PENNY DEL Future Camps in Augsburg schulen. Im Workshop haben wir über Rassismus, Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung gesprochen – vor allem aber darüber, welche Verantwortung jede und jeder Einzelne für das Miteinander in einer Mannschaft trägt. Mir ist wichtig, dass solche Gespräche nicht erst stattfinden, wenn etwas passiert ist. Haltung entsteht früher – im Training, in der Kabine, auf der Bank und im Alltag. Genau dort beginnt die Kultur unseres Sports. Vielen Dank an PENNY DEL Nachwuchskoordinator Uli Liebsch für das Vertrauen und die Möglichkeit, mit den Talenten von morgen ins Gespräch zu kommen. Ein Dank gilt auch unserem Coach Marcnel Bathe, der Hockey is Diversity beim Future Camp in Augsburg vertritt.

Today, I had the privilege of leading workshops for the U13 and U15 participants at the PENNY DEL Future Camp in Augsburg. During our sessions, we talked about racism, discrimination, and exclusion—but, above all, about the responsibility each and every one of us has for creating a respectful and supportive team environment. To me, these conversations shouldn’t begin only after something has gone wrong. Character is built much earlier—in practice, in the locker room, on the bench, and in everyday interactions. That is where the culture of our sport truly begins. My sincere thanks to PENNY DEL Youth Development Coordinator Uli Liebsch for his trust and for giving me the opportunity to engage with the talents of tomorrow. A special thank you also to our coach, Marcnel Bathe, for representing Hockey is Diversity at the Future Camp in Augsburg.
